Wreathing for Community ®

began with a single wreath — but it has grown into something far greater: a circle of generosity that belongs to all of us.

Neighbors donate florals, ribbons, and other wreathing supplies. Volunteers — myself included — gather to create wreaths, each one made with care, each one given freely. What begins as a box of donated wreathing supplies becomes a gift that brings beauty and joy to a doorway, a home, or an organization.

Sometimes it’s one wreath for one nominated neighbor. Other times, through wreathing events, many wreaths are created at once and delivered together, multiplying the joy we can share. And little by little, those gifts travel beyond our own streets, reaching surrounding towns and organizations throughout Fairfield County.

That is why Wreathing for Community is bigger than any one person. It belongs to everyone who donates, volunteers, or nominates a neighbor. Every bow tied, every wreath hung, every act of kindness adds to the story.

And there is always room for more hands, more hearts, and more neighbors to join in. When you give, when you help, when you nominate, you don’t just support Wreathing for Community — you become Wreathing for Community. Together, we are not just making wreaths. We are weaving joy, connection, and community itself.

In a world that moves fast and often forgets to check in, sometimes a wreath can do what words can’t—a burst of beauty that says, you matter, you’re not alone, or even just look how lovely life can still be.

This year’s Wreathing for Community Mother’s Day wreath is going to a woman whose love, resilience, and presence have left a lasting impression on her family. The nomination received was heartfelt and full of admiration — a beautiful reminder of the quiet strength so many mothers carry. I’m honored to gift this wreath in her honor.

Words from a young lady who recently passed (not pictured), “Always be kinder than you feel, expect nothing and accept everything. Love loudly, even when it hurts. Especially when it hurts.”

Rest In Peace!

Another WfC gift made possible by the generous donations of local community members. This was a random give on the local gift economy page.

Two winter wreaths made their way to Mercy Learning Center in Bridgeport, CT . We only got a photo of one of them, but both adorn the front doors.

Made during a Wreathing for Community event with Neighbors & Newcomers of Westport, CT.

In total 18 wreaths were made at this event and donated to various organizations in 2024/2025.
